A free overnight summer camp for local kids will return this August, and spots are limited.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office announced that its Sheriff’s Summer Camp will run August 2 through August 8 in Penn Yan.
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 9 through 12. Families pay nothing to attend.
Campers will spend a full week taking part in structured activities, outdoor adventures, team building, and mentorship from law enforcement professionals across New York State.
The sheriff’s office said registration works on a first come, first served basis. Once all spots are filled, officials will place additional applicants on a waiting list.
The deadline to apply is March 1.
Parents or guardians can register or request more information by emailing Investigator James Palmer at [email protected].
Organizers also shared an online video that gives families a look at what camp life includes.
Officials called the camp an opportunity for youth to build confidence, friendships, and lifelong memories in a safe and supportive environment.
