Police arrested a man after a traffic stop in Tyre led to more serious charges.
Deputies arrested Bradley D. Beams, 70, of Auburn, on Wednesday around 4:25 p.m. Sheriff Tim Thompson said deputies charged him with Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree tied to a previous alcohol conviction, and Circumvention of an Interlock Device.
Deputies stopped a vehicle on State Route 318 for an expired registration.
During the roadside investigation, the driver gave deputies a false name in an attempt to conceal his identity. Deputies later identified him as Beams.
Investigators also found that Beams had a revoked New York State driver license with a restriction requiring an interlock device.
Deputies transported Beams to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where staff processed and released him on an appearance ticket.
Beams will appear in Tyre Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
