FARMINGTON — The CEO of Leonard’s Express has been recognized once again as one of the top leaders in the global cold food supply chain.
Food Logistics magazine named Kyle Johnson a 2026 Rock Star of the Supply Chain, marking the second consecutive year he has received the honor. The annual award highlights influential leaders whose work and vision are shaping how food moves safely and efficiently through the global cold chain. It is also the fourth straight year a Leonard’s Express executive has earned the distinction.
Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, said this year’s honorees stood out for their resilience and innovation amid ongoing industry challenges, including cargo fraud, natural disasters, shifting food safety regulations and rising tariffs.
Under Johnson’s leadership, Leonard’s Express has expanded and strengthened its position in cold chain management through new certifications and facility upgrades. The company’s Shortsville warehouse, built in 2022, is now certified as an AIB food-grade facility, meeting strict standards set by the American Institute of Baking for food safety and hygiene.
The company’s Delaware facility is also certified to store organic produce, reinforcing compliance with federal organic standards that apply throughout the entire supply chain. Company officials noted that organic products remain a significant and growing segment of the food industry, requiring careful handling from origin to destination.
Johnson said Leonard’s Express focuses on providing comprehensive logistics solutions for food shippers, grocers and distributors seeking to reduce loss, control costs and ensure product freshness.
Over the past year, Leonard’s Express has received multiple industry accolades, including recognition as a Top 3PL & Cold Storage Provider by Food Logistics, a Top Food Chain Provider by Food Shippers of America, and one of the Best Fleets to Drive For by Carriers Edge. The company was also named a Top Workplace for Women in Transportation by the Women In Trucking Association and recognized as an Honor Fleet member by Wreaths Across America for more than a decade of service supporting the organization.
Leonard’s Express is a family-owned, asset-based transportation provider headquartered in Farmington, with offices across the United States. The company provides transportation and warehousing solutions for customers in a range of industries.
