Tuesday night featured a 14-game Wayne-Finger Lakes high school basketball slate, though many contests were decided by wide margins. The Gananda boys grabbed the main headline as junior Cooper Grassel erupted for 31 points, knocking down eight three-pointers to power the Blue Panthers to a dominant win over Sodus. The standout performance also marked a historic milestone for Grassel, who became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,103 career points, surpassing the previous record held by Jayden Castrechini. Elsewhere, the Wayne boys continued its torrid stretch, cruising past Waterloo to extend its win streak to 11.
