Hochul demands Noem step down

A deadly ICE shooting in Minneapolis pushed Gov. Kathy Hochul to publicly call for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, according to Spectrum News 1.

Hochul spoke out after ICE agents shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti during a protest, the second fatal ICE shooting of a civilian in Minneapolis this month. She rejected the Trump administration’s claim that agents acted in self-defense and pointed to video showing what she described as excessive force.

Hochul also urged the firing of Border Patrol official Greg Bovino, accusing DHS leadership of escalating violent enforcement and failing to protect civilian lives.
