Anger over a second fatal ICE shooting spilled into the Finger Lakes on Monday, according to WHAM-TV. Protesters gathered outside Geneva City Hall demanding accountability after federal agents killed Minnesota ICU nurse Alex Pretti.
Demonstrators said aggressive immigration enforcement has put immigrants and citizens in danger nationwide. Several speakers condemned what they described as fear-driven federal tactics following the Minneapolis shooting.
The rally briefly turned tense when a counter-protester invoked free speech rights, before organizers moved the event indoors. Local advocacy groups coordinated the demonstration as calls for consequences against Immigration and Customs Enforcement continue to grow.
