Daniel “Danny” George Jones, Jr., of Waterloo, New York, passed away on January 2, 2026, at Geneva General Hospital, following an acute illness. He was 59 years old.
Born on October 28, 1966, Danny was the son of the late Daniel G. Jones, Sr., and the late Tina “Jeanie” Forjones Prosser. A lifelong resident of Waterloo, he was proud to call the community his home. He attended Waterloo High School and remained closely connected to the area throughout his life.
Danny is survived by his siblings, Tony (Laura) Prosser of Fairport, NY, Machelle (Jeremy) Twist of Winchester, KY, and Shannon (Siobhan) Prosser of Lyons, NY; his step-brothers, Rick Bohling of Charlotte, NC, Mike (Cheryl) Bohling of Waterloo, NY, Jason O’Hora of Seneca Falls, NY, and Joshua Bush of Seneca Falls, NY; and his step-mother, Sheryl Jones of Seneca Falls, NY. He also leaves behind his long-term partner, Sherri Darling. In addition to his parents, Danny was predeceased by his step-mother, Irene Steele Jones.
An avid New York Giants fan, Danny enjoyed following his team and sharing that passion with friends and family.
A private family celebration of life has been planned. Interment will be scheduled at a later date.
Danny will be remembered for his strong ties to his hometown and for the meaningful relationships he shared with those who knew and loved him.
