Tiny home becomes Christmas miracle in Wayne County

A downsizing plan turned into a holiday homecoming when Susan Salvaggio moved into a custom tiny house just in time for Christmas, according to the Times of Wayne County. After years in larger homes and frustration with HOA limits, Salvaggio chose a 400-square-foot log cabin on land she already owned in Sodus.

She bought a turnkey model from a Pennsylvania builder, paid about $125,000, and avoided a mortgage entirely. Local contractors handled zoning, utilities, and a garage for extra storage.

Salvaggio moved in Dec. 24, calling the tight timeline a true community effort—and a perfect fit close to family.
