Wells College has agreed to sell its Aurora campus for $12.5 million to the Hiawatha Institute for Indigenous Knowledge, according to The Citizen.
The deal includes campus buildings, dorm furniture, and library materials (excluding rare books). The Hiawatha Institute plans to open an Indigenous college and convert some buildings into apartments. Existing tenants like the Community Medical Center and Peachtown Elementary will stay.
This marks a major step in Wells’ shutdown process after closing in 2024. The buyer is now entering a due diligence phase before the deal closes.
