Former Watkins Glen track leader dies at 60

A longtime racing executive who helped shape a major NASCAR venue has died, according to an announcement Thursday. Michael Printup, a former president of Watkins Glen International, died at 60 after decades in the motorsports industry.


Printup led Watkins Glen International from 2009 to 2023 and later served as chief operating officer of Racing America. He also ran Americrown, managing Levy Food Service contracts for multiple NASCAR tracks.

A Hamburg, New York native, Printup leaves behind his wife, Stephanie, two sons, and two granddaughters. A memorial service is set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Summerville, South Carolina.
