Police arrested a suspect days after a reported theft turned into a robbery on the Ithaca Commons.
Ithaca police identified the suspect as Madison E. Hornbrook, 25, of Lansing, following an investigation into the incident.
Officers responded around 1:40 p.m. Dec. 22 to a business in the 100 block of East State Street after a report of a theft. Police said responding officers quickly learned the incident met the legal definition of a robbery.
Investigators worked to identify the suspect in the days that followed. On Dec. 30, officers arrested Hornbrook and charged her with third-degree robbery under New York State Penal Law.
Police said the investigation remains active. Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident can contact the Ithaca Police Department through dispatch, administration, or the department’s tip line.
