Lyons residents and local leaders are welcoming a $3 million redevelopment effort aimed at breathing new life into a long-neglected part of the village, according to RochesterFirst.com.
Wayne County officials say community reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Locals are hopeful the project — which includes tearing down condemned buildings and adding affordable housing and retail — will restore pride and foot traffic to the area.
Supporters say the upgrades could also bring in new services like healthcare and daycare, making Lyons more livable and inviting for future development.
