Crews have broken ground on turning Canandaigua’s long-abandoned Labelon factory into 51 apartments, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Now called Hunter House, the $16 million project is led by 43 North Real Estate and developer Joel Barrett, who says it took years of negotiation, cleanup, and planning to get to this point. The four-story brick building will feature studio to three-bedroom units, including “workforce” housing and market-rate rentals.
Once complete in 12–18 months, the downtown complex will offer modern amenities like a gym, game room, and co-working space—while preserving its historic exterior.
