A federal raid on a Cayuga County nutrition bar factory followed months of surveillance, traffic stops, and tips about undocumented workers, according to Spectrum News 1.
Affidavits show agents found pay stubs, fake green cards, and W-2s tied to workers without valid documentation. One stop uncovered 134 out of 224 employees using fraudulent Social Security numbers.
No charges have been filed yet, but the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office is under review for possible civil rights violations during the investigation.
