Fruit flies in the wine slushy machine and cleaning products above food prep areas led to another $5,000 fine for the Sterling Renaissance Festival, according to The Citizen.
Cayuga County inspectors found 17 violations during three summer visits, pushing the festival’s total to 82 critical or maintenance issues since 2023.
Festival owner Empire Attractions must now make repairs — including better food storage and new plumbing — by June 2026 or risk losing its permit.
