A Sunday night kitchen fire forced a Geneva family of six out of their home, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Fire crews responded quickly to 35 Dixon Ave. around 7:15 p.m. and contained the blaze to the kitchen, which suffered major damage. Smoke detectors alerted one adult and five children, all of whom evacuated safely. The rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage.
Officials say unattended cooking caused the fire. The Red Cross was notified, and no injuries were reported.
