An Auburn woman is facing felony charges after allegedly hitting a man in the head with a metal rod during a domestic dispute late Friday night, police said.
Lisa Mack, 53, was arrested at her home on Osborne Street after officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault just before midnight on November 14.
The caller told dispatchers that Mack struck him with a broom handle. When officers arrived, they determined the weapon was actually a metal rod. The victim was treated at the scene by Auburn City Ambulance for head injuries.
Police say the victim became uncooperative during the investigation, but Mack was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon — both Class D felonies.
Mack was processed and taken to the Cayuga County Jail, where she awaits arraignment.
