A Geneva man was arrested Tuesday morning following an investigation into a forcible touching incident that took place over the weekend.
Deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office took 42-year-old Matthew John Brown into custody around 8:18 a.m. at a location on State Route 5 and 20 in Geneva. The arrest followed a report filed two days earlier, alleging Brown inappropriately touched a woman at a local business on November 9.
According to investigators, the victim told Brown to stop before the contact continued. Deputies say Brown forcibly touched the victim’s intimate areas despite her objections.
He was charged with one count of forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor.
Brown was transported to the Ontario County Jail and is awaiting arraignment. He’s scheduled to appear in the Town of Geneva Court at a later date.
The Geneva Police Department assisted with the investigation.
