Ontario County Republicans say this year’s local election could make history — and they’re backing a full slate of women candidates to help make it happen.
Party leaders announced support for seven women running for key leadership roles across the county, including town supervisor and judicial seats.
The list includes five candidates for town supervisor: Meghan Fuller (South Bristol), Kris Singer (Canadice), Laura Abplanalp (Bristol), Ruth Smith (West Bloomfield), and Roslyn Grammar (Town of Seneca).
The GOP is also rallying behind three judicial candidates: Judge Kristina “Kitty” Karle for New York State Supreme Court, Stefanie Barnes for Ontario County Court Judge, and Meg Reston for Canandaigua City Court Judge.
Judge Karle already made history as Ontario County’s first elected female judge. Now, she’s running for a Supreme Court seat in the 7th Judicial District. If elected, she would be the first woman from outside Monroe County to serve on that court.

Ontario County Republican Chair Trisha Turner said she’s proud to stand behind the group.
“I am thrilled to support this exceptional slate of women candidates,” Turner said. “With unwavering commitment and integrity, they are working to ensure safe, strong communities — today and for future generations.”
Senator Pam Helming, Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey, and County Clerk Jean Chrisman also voiced support, praising the women’s leadership and dedication to their communities.
Voting is underway, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 4.
