A Schuyler County woman reported missing earlier this week has been found safe, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities began investigating after learning that 36-year-old Stephanie M. Kemp may have gone missing in the Hector National Forest. She was last seen in Watkins Glen on October 13.

On October 23, local deputies, New York State Forest Rangers, and K-9 search teams from Amigo and Laurel Mountain spent roughly 13 hours searching the rugged terrain but found no signs of Kemp in the forest.

The Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that Kemp had been located and is safe. Officials thanked the community and multiple agencies for their help during the investigation.
