A Bath man was arrested last month after police say he intentionally sent smoke into a bank through its drive-thru tube, causing a worker to seek medical attention.
According to the Bath Police Department, officers responded to Chemung Canal Trust Bank on West Morris Street on September 15 after an employee inhaled smoke while working at the drive-thru. Investigators determined that a man had placed a lit cigar inside the money tube, sending the smoke directly into the bank.
The employee inhaled the smoke and required medical care, according to police.
Officers later arrested Jacob R. Fronk, 33, who was staying at a local motel. Fronk was charged with assault in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree, both class A misdemeanors. He was issued appearance tickets and is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.
