Palmyra man assaults woman, flees scene leading to manhunt

A Palmyra man was arrested after a multi‑agency search following a violent domestic incident that left a woman injured while a child under three was present.

The suspect, 27‑year‑old Scott W. Dollar, allegedly struck a female family member in the face, damaged property inside a residence at 363 Johnson Street, then fled the scene and threatened not to surrender if found.

Officers first responded at about 8:15 p.m. on October 20. Palmyra police launched a coordinated search using officers on foot and the department’s utility task vehicle. The New York State Police and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office joined the effort with K‑9 units, drones and additional personnel, and Macedon police provided assistance.

After several hours, officers found Dollar hiding in an outbuilding and took him into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and is being held pending arraignment at 7:00 a.m. A stay‑away order of protection will be requested at arraignment.

Dollar faces charges of assault in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child, obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

The Palmyra Police Department thanked the New York State Police, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Macedon Police Department for their coordinated support.
