Geneva fentanyl and firearms trafficker convicted on 81 counts

A jury in Ontario County found Ronnie “Spaz” Boswell guilty of 81 charges on Thursday, bringing an end to a major drug and firearms trafficking case that started with neighborhood complaints in Geneva.

Boswell was convicted in Ontario County Supreme Court on a sweeping list of charges, including criminal sale of a firearm, conspiracy, drug trafficking, and weapons possession. The verdict followed a lengthy multi-agency investigation that uncovered thousands of fentanyl pills and illegal weapons.

Prosecutors say the case began with reports of open-air drug deals in Geneva. That sparked a joint investigation by local, state, and federal agencies, which led to the recovery of 14 firearms—five of which were illegal assault weapons—along with 13 high-capacity magazines, 2,600 fentanyl pills, and ammunition.

Assistant District Attorneys Peter Van Dellon and Timothy Boucher prosecuted the case, which was overseen by Justice Victoria M. Argento.

Boswell is scheduled to be sentenced on January 8 and faces more than 150 years in prison.
