Victor man arrested for skipping court in drug case

A Victor man who failed to appear in court after a felony drug arrest has been taken into custody by law enforcement.

On October 15, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26-year-old Jonathan J. Matthews on a charge of first-degree bail jumping. The charge stems from a 2023 case where Matthews was arrested for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

After his arraignment on the original drug charge, Matthews reportedly missed multiple court appearances. He was located in Rochester by the U.S. Marshals Service and New York State Police, then turned over to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthews was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings.
