Sidewalk repairs in Geneva are on hold — and could stay that way until the new mayor takes office in January, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
After dozens of homeowners got hit with costly repair orders, City Council paused enforcement last month with a nine-month moratorium. At the Oct. 1 meeting, new Assistant City Manager Taylor Youngs floated options like easing deadlines, offering financial help, or shifting sidewalk upkeep to the city.
Mayor Steve Valentino, who’s stepping down, urged Council to wait for the next administration. Council plans to revisit the issue in December, but complaints and inspections will still continue.
