Kristen Pyer, a former board member of Roxboro Middle School’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), has been arrested and charged with stealing nearly $65,000 from the group, according to officials.
After an 18-month investigation, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office found evidence that Pyer took money from the PTO’s bank account and kept funds from fundraising events. She was charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records.
The PTO was not affiliated with the North Syracuse Central School District. Pyer pleaded not guilty and was released under pre-trial conditions.
