A Geneva developer is suing to block a $38 million housing project planned for downtown, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Dave Linger, a vocal critic of the Lakeview Downtown Lofts plan, filed a court petition Friday arguing the city’s Planning Board wrongly approved the 74-unit project despite a Zoning Board rejection. The lawsuit targets Lakeview Health, the Planning Board, and Finger Lakes Publishing.
Linger said the proposal is too large, lacks parking, and doesn’t fit downtown. Lakeview, which set aside units for mental health and affordable housing, has paused the project but may seek state aid in 2026.
