Former Central New York Rep. Brandon Williams is heading to the Department of Energy as under secretary for nuclear security, according to Spectrum News.
The U.S. Senate confirmed Williams on Thursday in a 51-47 vote, part of a bulk approval of Trump nominees after Republicans changed chamber rules. The role also makes him head of the National Nuclear Security Administration.
Williams, a Central New York Republican, served one House term before losing reelection in 2024 to Democrat John Mannion.
