Auburn pays $10K+ for pothole damage in one year

The city of Auburn shelled out over $10,000 in vehicle damage claims during the 2024–25 fiscal year, mostly tied to potholes, according to The Citizen.

Officials say 16 claims were paid, double the number from the previous year. North Street was the biggest trouble spot — with multiple payouts, including one over $1,100 for tire damage. A snowplow accident also led to the year’s largest claim.

City leaders plan to address problem roads through major paving projects starting this year and into 2026.
