Corning Community College is receiving $150,000 in federal funding to boost workforce education and job readiness programs.
Congressman Nick Langworthy announced the grant Saturday, which comes from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The funding will support a multi-phase effort to align the college’s training programs with in-demand skills needed by regional employers.
“Southern Tier businesses need skilled workers who are ready to step into good-paying jobs on day one,” Langworthy said in the announcement. “This investment will strengthen Corning Community College’s ability to train and prepare students, ensuring a steady pipeline of talent that supports our region’s workforce and drives economic growth.”
The grant is part of a broader ARC initiative focused on workforce development across New York’s Southern Tier and other Appalachian regions.
