Deputies arrested a Lyons man Sunday evening after he allegedly tried to bribe officers and threatened them during a separate investigation.
Christopher J. Huffman, 29, was taken into custody around 7 p.m. on Route 14 in the Town of Lyons, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were investigating an unrelated case and attempting to arrest another person when Huffman allegedly offered them money to release the individual. After being taken into custody, Huffman reportedly threatened to kill the deputies involved.
He was charged with third-degree bribery and second-degree harassment. Huffman was transported to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
