A Rochester man was arrested Monday night after deputies say he dropped a bag of cocaine while checking in at the Finger Lakes Gaming Casino in Farmington.
Richard R. Cowley, 57, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Cowley dropped a small zip bag containing a white powdery substance out of his wallet while going through security.
Casino staff secured the substance and contacted deputies, who confirmed the powder tested positive for cocaine. Cowley was taken into custody without incident.
He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Farmington Town Court at a later date.
