Visitors can take in the sights, sounds, and stories of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal this fall during a two-hour narrated boat tour from Waterloo to historic Lock 4.
The Canal Lock Experience Tour, hosted by Finger Lakes Water Adventures, runs every Saturday at 2 p.m. through October. The cruise departs from Stivers Seneca Marine and offers a full pass-through of Lock 4—giving guests a front-row seat to the lock system in action.
Along the way, the crew shares the history behind the canal’s construction, its original purpose, and its ongoing importance to the Finger Lakes region.
“It’s a relaxing ride, but also an immersive history lesson,” organizers said in the event announcement.
The boat features a full bar and onboard restrooms for added comfort, making it a laid-back way to enjoy the changing leaves and cooler temperatures.
