Livingston County has named longtime County Attorney Shannon Hillier as its acting/interim County Administrator, effective immediately.
The unanimous appointment was made Wednesday by the Board of Supervisors during a brief executive session at the close of its regular meeting. Hillier will now oversee day-to-day operations and assist with leading key county initiatives as officials begin their search for a permanent replacement.
“We are confident in Shannon’s leadership and ability to provide steady guidance during this transition,” said Board Chair David LeFeber. “Her extensive knowledge of County operations and years of public service make her well-suited to step into this role.”
Hillier has served as Livingston County’s chief legal advisor since 2017, working closely with the Board and department heads on contract negotiations, personnel matters, and major efforts like broadband expansion.
“I appreciate the confidence of the Board and am committed to ensuring a smooth transition,” Hillier said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the County’s leadership team to continue delivering strong services and programs for our residents.”
Hillier will remain in the interim role until a permanent administrator is appointed.
