A Phelps woman faces animal cruelty charges after a dog’s cries were caught on video during an alleged beating, according to Ontario County Animal Control.
Investigators say 30-year-old Alexis Heitmann was seen striking a 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix named Bruce while yelling at him to stop barking in a backyard on August 18.
Despite the disturbing footage, officials say Bruce is unharmed and now safe at Happy Tails Animal Shelter.
