The Canandaigua Knights Youth Hockey group is lacing up for more than just ice time this year. For the first time ever, their annual “Icebreaker” event will kick off with a 5K road race.
The race starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, beginning and ending at the Canandaigua Civic Center. The route winds through Outhouse Road and Baker Park.
Registration is open to the public at CKHockey.org. Everyone is welcome — runners, walkers, and spectators alike.
After the run, the fun continues with Icebreaker festivities, including live music, food trucks, bounce houses, and open skating in the rink.
Proceeds from the event support the Knights’ youth hockey programs, covering equipment, training, and special events.
The Canandaigua Knights, a nonprofit based at the Civic Center, offers programs for players as young as 4 years old — from learn-to-skate to full travel teams. The organization focuses on player development and family-first values, helping local athletes reach their hockey goals.
