A Geneva man faces a larceny charge after allegedly stealing alcohol from a Penn Yan business and then running from police when he returned to the store the next day.
According to the Penn Yan Police Department, 38-year-old Edward F. Galvin III was identified through video surveillance after officers responded to a theft report on August 10. The incident occurred the day prior.
Later that same day, officers were called again when Galvin reportedly returned to the business. Police say he fled on foot as they arrived but was quickly caught and taken into custody without further incident.
Galvin was processed at the police station and charged with petit larceny. He was released on an appearance ticket for Penn Yan Village Court.
