The New York Yankees made a couple of roster moves ahead of their game Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The club reinstated utilityman Amed Rosario from the 10-day injured list and optioned catcher J.C. Escarra to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room on the roster.
Rosario was placed on the injured list on August 10 with a shoulder sprain after playing four games for the Yankees. The 29-year-old is batting .277 with five home runs and 19 RBI in 50 combined games with the Washington Nationals and Yankees this season.
Escarra batted .202 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 40 games after making his Major League debut on March 29.
