A Bath woman is facing multiple charges after crashing her vehicle into a utility pole Friday night, in an accident that killed a dog and left her with minor injuries.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. on August 10 at the intersection of West Washington and West Morris streets. According to the Village of Bath Police Department, the vehicle was turning left onto Washington Street when the driver failed to navigate the turn and hit the pole.
Police say the driver, identified as 43-year-old Courtney L. Clark, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. A dog in the car did not survive the crash.
Officers suspected Clark was under the influence of alcohol. Following an investigation, she was arrested and charged with:
- Driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or more (misdemeanor)
- Driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor)
- Moving from a lane unsafely (violation)
Clark was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.
