A 42-year-old Corning man is facing charges after police say he violated a court-issued order of protection during an incident in Bath earlier this summer.
According to the Village of Bath Police Department, an officer witnessed an interaction between two individuals around 2:50 a.m. on June 29. The officer later confirmed that one of them was the protected party in a full stay-away order.
Investigators say the suspect, Robin S. Robinson, made contact with the protected individual at the Kwik Fill gas station on West Morris Street — a violation of the court order. A warrant was later issued, charging Robinson with criminal contempt in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
On August 5, police in Bath were notified that Robinson was in custody in Corning on unrelated charges. He was turned over to Bath officers, processed, and taken to Steuben County Jail. He was later arraigned and released.
The Bath Police Department thanked Corning Police for assisting with the arrest.
