The Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center has received a $99,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts to help renovate its Annex space.
The funding is part of more than $86 million awarded to 134 capital projects across the state.
The Annex is located at the rear of the 1870 First Congregational Church on State Street, which the organization is repurposing into a cultural and educational hub. Planned upgrades include toilet rooms, a concessions area, and a small gathering space to allow live programming and community events to begin while larger renovations to the main Great Hall continue.
The completed project will feature a 185-seat performance space with modern theatrical equipment, an accessible stage, and room for theater, music, dance, and art exhibitions.
Board President Mary McDonald said the center is “honored and grateful” for the state support.
