Three inmates at the Ontario County Jail are facing new charges after an investigation uncovered a conspiracy and assault inside the facility.
On August 4, Yahir Z. Irisarri, 20, and Michael T. Enright, 37, were arrested and charged with conspiracy in the fifth degree. Investigators say the two conspired to instigate a fight between other incarcerated individuals that led to a felony-level assault.
In a separate case, Leon McDaniel, 28, was charged with assault in the second degree for allegedly attacking another inmate on July 23 while also being held on unrelated charges.
All three men were arraigned at CAP Court and remain in custody. Their cases will be heard in Hopewell Town Court.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division led the investigation with support from jail staff.
