The Geneva Police Department is investigating an act of vandalism after a vehicle caused damage to the newly resurfaced basketball court at Nieder Park early Monday morning.
Officers responded around 6 a.m. on August 4 to a criminal mischief complaint and discovered that a vehicle had driven through the park and performed multiple “burnouts” on the court surface.
The damage is expected to cost over $500 to clean and repair. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video surveillance of the vehicle or suspects is urged to contact the Geneva Police Department at 315-828-6771. Tips can remain anonymous.
