A key hearing on whether the Greenidge Generation plant can continue operating along Seneca Lake has been delayed again, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the Department of Environmental Conservation proceeding has been pushed to November after Greenidge requested more time. The case involves the plant’s bid to renew its Title V air permit, which was denied in 2022 due to concerns over greenhouse gas emissions.
Two Greenidge experts are set to testify in support of the facility’s continued operation. Opponents, including Seneca Lake Guardian, will cross-examine them during the public—but not livestreamed—hearing in Albany.
