Auburn Fire Department begins hydrant flushing, warns of possible water discoloration

The Auburn Fire Department has begun its annual hydrant flushing, a routine process that may temporarily discolor water in some areas over the next few weeks.

Officials advise residents not to be alarmed if their tap water appears discolored during this period. Running the water until it clears is recommended. The discoloration is a common effect of flushing and does not pose a health risk.
