Ulysses officials are considering a donated 16-acre parcel on Cold Springs Road as the town’s first public park, according to Tompkins Weekly.
Longtime residents Marvin and Allison Pritts offered the land, and a special meeting is expected in late August to finalize the decision. Most public feedback has been positive, and environmental reviews are underway with state waivers likely to expedite approval.
The town also plans to lower speed limits on roads near Taughannock State Park, including Jacksonville, Gorge, and Rice roads, from 55 mph to as low as 35 mph once state authorization arrives.
