Suspect arrested after deadly shooting at Wegmans warehouse

A man wanted for killing a coworker at a Wegmans distribution center in Gates has been arrested in Tennessee, according to WROC. Kyshonn Green, 32, allegedly shot and killed 25-year-old J’Mere Ridley-Smith on July 26 before fleeing the state.

Green was taken into custody in Knoxville with a loaded handgun and now awaits extradition to New York. Ridley-Smith’s mother said she’s thankful for the arrest but heartbroken by her son’s death.

The shooting also disrupted operations at the warehouse, leading to limited produce in some Wegmans stores. No other employees were injured in the attack.
