Police investigate fatal stabbing in Ithaca

A 54-year-old man died after being stabbed Thursday night in the City of Ithaca, prompting a multi-agency homicide investigation.

The victim, identified as Edward J. Warren, was found injured and receiving help from bystanders when officers arrived at the scene around 8:30 p.m. on July 24, according to the Ithaca Police Department.

Emergency responders from Bangs Ambulance provided treatment at the scene before Warren was flown to a regional trauma center. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, Bangs Ambulance, and the Ithaca Fire Department assisted at the scene. The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is also supporting the investigation.
