Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne has died at age 76. His family confirmed he passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, surrounded by loved ones, just weeks after performing in his retirement show, Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, in Birmingham.
Osbourne, who had battled Parkinson’s since 2020, was the original lead singer of Black Sabbath and later launched a highly successful solo career. He was widely considered a pioneer of heavy and doom metal music.
His final solo album, Patient Number 9, was released in 2022. Fans and fellow musicians are mourning the loss of the “Prince of Darkness,” a performer whose influence reshaped rock music for generations.
