The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee to host a free car seat check event next month in Penn Yan. The public safety initiative will take place Wednesday, August 27 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the ServU Credit Union on Delano Place.
Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on-site to inspect car seats, help caregivers with proper installation, and offer replacements if needed. The effort is part of ServU Credit Union’s Back to School Kick-Off Event and aims to ensure children are safely secured during travel.
No appointment is required for the safety checks.
